Finding Mold Allergy Relief

07.05.2009 14:08
Mold allergy symptoms look a lot like normal colds, so for

many  people they are overlooked at first making them very

deceptive.  However if  the symptoms your dealing with

seem to dissapear every time you leave the house or a certain

room, then chances are you could be suffering from a mold

allergy. So if this is the case how do you find mold allergy relief?

For immediate relief some type of medication will be required,

especially if your having nasal congestion and breathing problems.

However this is not a permanent solution and you will need to take

several steps in regards to your home for long term mold allergy

relief.

Toxic Mold

If you have had water damage in your home then there is a

possibility that there is black mold in your home. Black mold has a

greenish black color and is slimy in appearance. This kind of mold

is also known as toxic mold as The Center of Disease Control links

this kind of mold with death as a result of respiratory bleeding. If

you have any type of preexisting condition that affects your immune

system then you need to be very careful when dealing with black

mold. Rather than looking for mold allergy relief you need to have

this type of mold professionally eliminated.

Controlling Mold

Getting rid of mold and preventing mold growth is the best way to

deal with a mold spore allergy. Controling the humidity in a damp

room is the first thing you should do to prevent mold from

growing. The best way to do this is to use a dehumidifier, adjust it

so that the room does not encourage mold to grow. A dehumidifier is

a way not only to provide mold allergy relief but to provide overall

relief to any other allergies you might have. Using a dehumidifier

in your basement is a good idea. To keep mold from growing in

your bathroom use an exhaust fan or open a window after taking a

shower or bath. This will help to remove the moisture and stop mold

growth. cleaning the bathrooms on a regular basis will help

prevent this from happening.

Many people ignore shower curtains but this is a hot spot for

mold to grow on so be certain you clean shower curtains regularly.

Take the time to clean tiles and grout in the bathroom to prevent

mold from growing. another way of removing mold is by using vinegart

which is an effective non toxic cleaning agent. Keep in

mind that any mold growth needs to dealt with for long term

mold allergy relief.
